Accessing the NDIS in NSW

Based on the information you’ve given us,  the person you care for is not currently receiving NSW Government funded disability supports.

If you would like to check if they are eligible to access the NDIS in NSW, you should visit the NDIS Access Checklist here:

https://www.ndis.gov.au/people-disability/access-requirements.html

In NSW, people who currently receive NSW Government funded disability supports are moving to the NDIS first.

If the person you care for doesn’t receive NSW Government funded disability supports, they may still be able to access the NDIS if they  meet the age, residency and disability or early intervention access requirements.

New NDIS participants in NSW have the opportunity to access the Scheme when it starts in their local area, if they are in immediate need of assistance, and do not currently have support.

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) determines eligibility for the NDIS.

For more information about access and eligibility, you can call the NDIA on 1800 800 110 or visit their website for more information: www.ndis.gov.au
